1. Schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor at your current university to identify courses they will accept in transfer from NOVA (you should get this list of approvals in writing).
2. NOVA pre-requisites can be found at this link: http://www.nvcc.edu/academic/coursecont.htm
3. Apply to NOVA at: https://apply.vccs.edu/oa/launch.action
4. If you have met prerequisites, send us an unofficial transcript from your NOVA college email address to: AcademicAdvising@nvcc.edu. In your email, include your NOVA student ID number, the course you want to take, and the course on your transcript you believe meets the prerequisite. As long as we can confirm the course meets the prerequisite, we will clear your file to allow you to register for the class. You will have an email response within 24 hours.

• Students should submit their official college transcript (sealed and unopened) to the Student Services Center on campus.  You can bring it in or have it mailed directy to the college.  (addresses are listed beow)
• Students must complete a NOVA Request for Evaluation of Transcript form (125-049)and submit to the Student Services Center on campus.  Without this form, your transcript will not be evaluated!
• The transcript evaluation form and transcripts are sent to the College Records Office for evaluation.  Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for US college transcript and 10 to 12 weeks for International transcripts to be evaluated.
• Transcript evaluators will be only evaluate and transfer course that will count in your current degree plan (major) listed in your SIS record.

Courses that will transfer to NOVA will be determined through this process and not by the counselors or advisors during walk-in advising.

Students will receive an email from the College Records Office once the transcript evaluation is complete.  If students have any questions about the status, please email askthecro@nvcc.edu

While waiting on the results of the transcript evaluation, students who would like to regiater for classes, can work with a NOVA advisor or counselor on any campus to identify courses that they clearly have not taken in the past.
