Watch this Youtube video where “senior bad boy rocker” Mick Jagger talks about what he likes read. He’s so nonchalant talking about biographies and novels – while thousands of fans wait for the concert to start.

Steampunk anyone?
Do we have a Steampunk community at NOVA? We want to do a display on Steampunk and we could use some advice from some “people in the know.”
Here’s my photo of the Steampunk Treehouse that now resides in Milton DE at the Dogfish Head Brewery. Company meetings are held in the treehouse.
If you want to contribute ideas – please email me at pderoy@nvcc.edu.
Old books – a work of art
Don’t know what to do with old books? Recycle, donate, throw away? or… do something CRAFTY! The staff at the Annandale library has strong leanings toward the creative arts.
Paula DeRoy, Supie Wolf, and Sarah Lawless put their talents together to create a whole new vision for an old book. By folding pages in different patterns, an old out of date book became a decorative flower vase with a bouquet of roses. Learn to repurpose your old books http://www.blog.designsquish.com/index.php?/site/book_origami/. Stop by and see the wonderful works of art they have created. You will be inspired!
TED Talk – How Books Can Open Your Mind
In this TED Talk Lisa Bu illustrates specific ways books have changed her life and helped her adjust to her new life in the United States. Here in the library it goes without saying that we value books and we value YOU, the people who use books.
