Welcome New NOVA Faculty

NOVA was pleased to host more than 70 new full-time faculty members at New Faculty Orientation. These new faculty members bring wonderful ideas and innovation to the 25 disciplines that they represent at all of NOVA’s academic divisions on all six campuses. The faculty spent three days in the New Faculty Orientation: NOVA and YOU, cosponsored by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and Human Resources. Keynote speaker President Robert G. Templin, Jr.  encouraged the faculty to be inspiring.

Each morning began with a plenary speaker which included Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Sheri Robertson (CS), Dean of Science, Technology and Business Bruce Bowman (AL) and Provost Barbara Saperstone (AN). Workshops, panel discussions and case studies rounded out the event. Faculty also had a chance to visit the actual benefit vendors to welcome them to the College, advise them of great perks and finish their hiring paperwork – a helpful one-stop event location.

NOVA and YOU finished with a cake-cutting ceremony during which one of NOVA’s longest-serving faculty members, Dr. David Conroy (AN), professor of mathematics, lent his own inspiration to the newest members of the NOVA family. The cake was cut by the newest member of the faculty on that day, Linda Millington (AN), languages and literature.

Please seek out new faculty in your division and discipline and make them feel welcome!
