About

The Science Seminar Series is dedicated to exposing NOVA students and faculty to state-of-the-art research and contemporary theoretical developments across the STEM disciplines, with the emphasis on interdisciplinary nature of modern science, and its role in a society and culture at large. For over thirty years, the Science Seminars were an integral part of the Math, Science and Engineering Division and uniquely contributed to the vibrant academic life on the Annandale campus. In a community college setting, where first-hand research opportunities remain limited, the Seminars have long been recognized as a significant and unique endeavor that fosters creativity and critical thinking in students aspiring STEM-related careers, as well as keeping the faculty intellectually engaged and abreast with current science.
