Honors PSY 230 with Prof. Lorente

When we asked students what they liked the best in their Honors PSY 230 class, here are some of the responses:

“Instead of the information being simple from the book, the information was collective. We discussed current events, actual studies, and personal experiences of both the professor and classmates.” (PSY 230, Fall 2019)

“My professor. She loves her subject and made it come to life!” (PSY 230, Fall 2019)

“[I liked]The small class size and field trips! It made the learning feel a lot more personal and enjoyable.” (SP19)

“I found the work comparable to regular BIO 101. While the workload wasn’t a lot, it was challenging and really allowed me to critically think.” (SP18)

“I enjoyed this course, I have never taken an honors course before. After taking this course I would recommend all students to consider honor courses. I enjoyed all the topics in this class including the labs, also I enjoyed the two field trips we went on. Overall this course exceeded all my expectation and I would recommend it to every NOVA student.” (SP18)

“I loved this class because Ms. Rupert made the class interesting. I had already learned this material in high school, but she showed interesting videos, and she gave us fair homework assignments and projects throughout the semester. I enjoyed working in a small class and getting to know everyone. I thought the dissection was fun, but I also liked attending the field trip and the seminar. “(SP18)

Honors Art 101 with Prof. Liberatore

On a scale from 1 (easiest) to 5 (very difficult), 40% of the students ranked Honors ART 101 at 3, comparable, and 40% of the students ranked Honors ART 101 at 4, more difficult than a regular ART 101.

“I liked the paper we had to write, and that it made me visit sites on my own” (SP19)

“I would definitely recommend this class to other Honors students because this we had several assignments that showed that art can be a tool used in politics, religion, and culture in the ancient world as well as in the current one. The professor always made the class interesting and relates it with current events as well as structures so that we understand it better. Overall, this is an awesome class with an awesome professor!!! I can assure you you’ll enjoy it.” (SP19)
