Are you a new student looking to get started at NOVA? If you are a new student between the ages of 17 and 24, with no previous college credit, simply make sure you have completed the steps listed below and you will be ready to begin at NOVA!
1. Apply to NOVA
The first step to attending NOVA is to Apply! You can do so by visiting www.admissions.nvcc.edu and clicking “Apply Now”. When you finish your application, make sure to take note of your NOVA ID Number (EMPLID) and your MyNOVA username and password.
2. Take your Math and English Placement Tests
You will need to take both an English and Math Placement test. To find out testing center hours, get an idea of what the placement tests are like, and take a practice test, click here. You may be exempt based off SAT, ACT or GED scores. To check for exemptions, check here.
3. Complete the New2NOVA Online Orientation
Before attending our in person orientation, completion of the New2NOVA online orientation is required. You can register for and complete the orientation, here.
4. Register for and Attend Orientation
At orientation you will meet your advisors, go on a campus tour, and register for classes! Don’t forget to make sure you have your tests and New2NOVA done before you attend. You can register for a Student Orientation, here.
