The description:
The Astronomy Club from NVCC Annandale presents a lecture by Dr. David Wineland, winner of the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics, together with the French physicist Serge Haroche. They received the award “for ground-breaking experimental methods that enable measuring and manipulation of individual quantum systems.” Based on his research, Dr. Wineland has been able to build extremely precise clocks. His research also allows us to build much faster computers.

There will be refreshments available after the lecture.
