Workshop: Assistive Technologies Across the Curriculum: Guiding Students with Accommodations Towards Success

At this workshop, you will learn the skills and know-how to work with students who use assistive technology and other accommodations. Additionally, teaching faculty will share experiences working with students with accommodations and the Office of Disability Services to provide an optimal learning environment.

Alexandria Campus Quick Byte Workshops for NOVA Students

Save the Date! August 24th is Adjunct Professional Development Day!

Screen Shot 2013-07-22 at 12.48.23 PMThis year’s Adjunct Professional Development Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 24th from 8:30 to 1:30pm. Come learn about resources for faculty available on campus, hear about the most recent research on student success and engagement, and join us for some hands-on sessions with topics including tools for student collaboration, software for creating dynamic lectures, Blackboard tools, cloud storage, and a special workshop presented by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). Lunch will be provided, and you can register to win a fabulous door prize!

Adjunct Professional Development Day–LTR Going Green in 2013

On January 12th, 39 adjuncts joined us for Adjunct Professional Development Day.  We began the day with keynote speaker, Jim Egenrieder.  Jim is a Google Certified educator, an adjunct instructor, and most recently a STEM Education Coordinator for NOVA and the arlington Public Schools.  Jim share with the audience Google Tools for the classroom.  Adjuncts were then invited to sessions on Tools You Can Use, Library Services, Interactive Short Throws and SMART Boards, Blackboard review, iPad in the Classroom, Student Response Systems, and CETL resources.  We closed the day with raffle prizes and lunch.
