Adobe Photoshop and GIMP in the Digital Media Studio

Have you wanted to use Photoshop for your school projects or personal projects, but don’t want to pay for the monthly subscription? You can use Photoshop on campus in the Digital Media Studio on one of our Macs or PCs. Adobe Photoshop is one of the most well-known software for photo editing and graphic design. It has a variety of tools and features that can help bring an idea to life.

To get started, all you have to do is book a seat. Additionally, you can get help with using Photoshop by requesting to meet with the Student Technology Consultant or a member of the Library Technology Team, or by checking out these tutorials.

Have you heard of GIMP? GIMP is a free photo editing software that has very similar features to Photoshop. You can download GIMP for free online, but we also have it downloaded on the computers in the Digital Media Studio if you want to try it out, compare it to Photoshop, or use it for your creative projects.

The Digital Media Studio exists to help you make your ideas a reality. Have you used the Digital Media Studio to create a multimedia project before? We would love to display student work in the library! Send us your submissions at anlibtechteam@nvcc.edu.
