Annandale Registered Clubs Spring 2024

We have 40+ active clubs in Annandale:

  • 1st Generation Student Club

We aim to create a community opened to all the students that are the first ones in their families to complete 2 or 4-year education in the US.

  • African Cultural Diversity Club

The purpose of this club is to unite students of African descents to learn more about our culture as well as our heritage and root.

  • African Student Union

The initiative of ASU is to be the voice of all African students at NOVA. It is designed to bring all African students together to make a difference in our campus life. Exchanging and understanding the beauty and the diversity of the continent is the core value of the union.

  • Arise Campus Ministry

To provide a welcoming and affirming Christian campus ministry; focused on building community.

  • ASEZ

ASEZ(which stands for save the earth from A to Z) is a group of university student volunteers from the Church of God who carry out various initiatives within our campuses and local communities to solve practical problems around the world. ASEZ also works toward the accomplishment of the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals(SDGs) through our S.A.V.E. Movement, which consists of four main types of activities that include social service, awareness raising, victim relief, and environmental protection.

  • Asian Student Association

The purpose of the Asian Student Association is to be a club to represent Asian students at NOVA. Our missions are to share values and are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where Asian communities can come together in a safe place.

  • Biology

The Biology Club at Nova aims to cultivate a passion for the life sciences among its members. Through interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and exposure to current research and innovations, we seek to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world biology. Whether you’re a biology major or just someone curious about the intricacies of life, our club provides a platform to explore, learn, and connect with like-minded individuals.

  • Black Students Alliance

The purpose of the Black Student Alliance is to further awareness of social issues, establish community, and provide educational support for Black students as well as all who are in support of Black liberation.

  • Clay Club

NOVA’s Pottery Club here on campus! Supporting ceramic artists and all those interested in the artistic medium.

  • College Transfer Club

Creating a space for future transferring students to freely talk about their journey and share information with each other (especially for out-of-state schools where is hard to gain information easily)

  • CyberForce NOVA

The CyberForce NOVA is a student group dedicated to fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment for students passionate about cybersecurity. Our primary focus is on developing a Capture The Flag (CTF) team, engaging in hands-on challenges to enhance practical skills. We aim to keep members informed about the latest cybersecurity developments through news sharing, organizing seminars, and facilitating study sessions to prepare for certifications such as Security+ and CEH. Our club serves as a hub for knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and professional growth, fostering a community where students can learn, collaborate, and thrive in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.

  • Dance Club

The Dance Club has a purpose to be a place where different cultures can learn how to dance. From K-pop, Salsa and anything in between. It’s open for everyone to join.

  • Desi Student Association

Cultural Club that brings together students of a “Desi” background to participate in enriching cultural events.

  • Elohim Bible Study

To share the teachings that came directly from Christ and explore great mysteries in the bible.

  • Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church “EOTC” Annandale Campus Ministry

Rooted in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, EOTC Campus Ministry aims to spread the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ within the Northern Virginia Community College community and other students of higher education in the area.

  • Ethiopian-Eritrean Student Association (EESA)

The Ethiopian-Eritrean Student Association has a mission to empower Ethiopians, Eritreans and other interested students by providing cultural services. Our vision is to create a thriving and supportive community that celebrates their culture, promotes equity, and help each other when needed.

  • Geology Club

The club is a place for students to discuss geology related topics, which documentaries and plan community outings.

  • GSA

For members of the LGBTQ+ community to come together and feel like they have a safe space.

  • Hispanic Student Union

HSU was organized in 1997 with the goal of bringing Hispanic students together. Culture and background can be something very important to embrace! However, we openly welcome and invite those who aren’t Hispanic. We want to create a safe space for students to interact and become friends.

  • Latin Health Matter

Our mission is to inform Nova students about the lack of medical attention received in Central American countries and to act as a community to help our society with better health options by providing information and resources to others. Students can learn to advocate about current health conditions that are affecting our society and receive knowledge on how we can help as a community. In addition, students can fundraise money to transfer to a general clinic in El Salvador with medical funds accompanied with the church “Fuente De Verdad” to spread awareness about God and give hope to patients in El Salvador.

  • LIFE SCIENCE CLUB

The club provides opportunities like volunteering opportunities and scholarship information, AND also engage more with your hobbies and interests.

  • Media Production Club

To create, inspire, cultivate, and build new filmmakers within the NoVa Community.

  • Mind, Body, Soul, and Self Discovery Club

This club has been created to provide a safe space and community for those to practice mindfulness and self-discovery through multiple avenues. For example, meditation, guided journaling, yoga, spiritual topics and discussions, nature walks, and much more! If you’re interested in getting to know yourself on a deeper level, this is the right place!

  • Music Club

Our club is an organization of students with a passion for music and playing musical instruments. We meet weekly and create music together along with an environment where we get to bond with fellow musicians. This includes practicing music, social events, and performing for fellow NOVA Students.

  • Muslim Student Association

The MSA strives to bringing together the Muslim community as well as those who are interested or would like to learn more about Islam. Through this club, individuals are able to get to know other likeminded people that are looking to grow closer to Allah (God) and become better Muslims.

  • Nighthawk Christian Fellowship (NCF)

To build a community, where everyone is welcome. Building connections with colleague, professors, mentors, and pastors. Network system like connecting student’s major advising, help finding churches to worship on Sunday, and introduce awesome Professors, mentors, pastors, graduates, and adults who already have jobs in each major.

  • Nighthawks Run Club

Promote the activity of running. Meet likeminded people and promote a healthy lifestyle.

  • Nighthawk Creative Writer’s Nest

Peer reviewed creative writing group that supports fellow club members writing by providing constructive criticism and support.

  • NOVA Annandale Geology Club

The club is a place for students to discuss geology related topics, which documentaries and plan community outings.

  • Nova Art Club

Artist alike come in with the professional interest or come with an open mindset to improve on their art and join a community with fellow artists! On that note, artists of all levels are welcomed into club

  • Nova Communications

I would describe this club broadly as a communications club. This means doing networking, communication-related activities, debates, mock interviews, and etcetera. This doesn’t mean its limited to these specific things just an overview.

  • NOVA Engineering Society

We strive to provide an active and passionate community, insight and education, and local internships and opportunities for our NVCC engineering students.

  • NOVA Investment Club

Connect likeminded people into a business-related community. Learn about the stock market world, share business related news and discuss current events in the corporate world.

  • Nova Math Club

To gather students who are interested in mathematical topics and events.

  • NOVA Mutual Aid

Our club is meant to provide funds and supplies to NVCC students who of in need of assistance, and strength the NVCC community as a whole

  • NOVA Tennis Table Club

The purpose of the NOVA Table Tennis Club is to be a social club on campus where students can take part in social activities, engage in friendly competition and have fun. The Educational goal is to foster the idea of starting a Table Tennis Team for NVCC.

  • NVCC Anime Club

This club is for those interested in Anime and Japanese culture throughout Northern Virginia. Meetings include watch parties, trivia nights, anime conventions, hanging out, and many other activities.

  • NVCC Chess Club

The NVCC Chess Club is dedicated to promoting the game of chess as a tool for intellectual enrichment and social engagement across our diverse student body. This club aims to create a welcoming environment where students of all skill levels can come together to play, learn, and grow as players through friendly competition, optional lessons/tutoring, and tournaments.

  • Phi Theta Kappa

As members of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, we dedicate ourselves to the ideas that academic excellence among college students will be recognized and celebrated; that opportunities to grow as scholars and leaders will be provided; that the exchange of ideas and ideals will be encouraged; and that members will be inspired to achieve their educational goals. We believe that membership in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is in recognition of our persistence and academic achievement, and we celebrate the Hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa as being those of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship.

  • Philosophy Club

A club to share your thoughts, have fun, and make friends discussing and exploring diverse topics in philosophy.

  • Pre-Medical Association Club

The pre-med club is to help students in the pre-med pathway to connect with each other, have more information on MCATs, Volunteering opportunity and many more.

  • SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA Nova is a part of nationwide SkillsUSA. A platform where students can expand their network and skills through the practical application of their study by participating in various judged competitions at the District, State, and National level.

  • Smarter Sense

Currency is a tool, a megaphone for society. In the hands of an ill minded individual, poor spending habits, enlarged ethical dilemmas, and blindness to one’s self become louder problems that spread towards others. Our goal is to alleviate as much as we can by giving perspective and teaching about healthier ways to budget so that people can put their hard-earned money into what really matters; leading to a more fulfilled individual.

  • Society of Physics Students

To provide the students of NOVA an opportunity to further explore future schooling and/or career opportunities in any area of physics & engineering (Specifically in the areas of chemistry, physics, biology, and computer science, etc.). To provide useful information to students who are looking for internships and jobs in the field of physics & engineering. To encourage students of NOVA to be innovative. To host a variety of physics & engineering-based events and competitions. To work toward solutions that solve the problems that our campus, community, and nation face today.

  • The NOVA Film Club

Our club is very social in nature. We are a democratic club that meets once a week, votes on a film to watch, watch the film, and analyze it.

  • Women in STEM

  • Yoga and Meditation

This club will be a place where people get together and do guided meditations/ yoga to destress their system and connect with each other.
