Last week, my ENV 121 classes toured the National Zoo’s Amazonia exhibit with resident biologist Ed Smith.

Up Close With A Spoonbill

Students get up close to a roseate spoonbill.


The roseate spoonbill uses its sensitive spoon-shaped bill to detect food in the murky waters of the Amazon.
