Biology 101 focuses on foundations in cellular structure, metabolism and genetics in an evolutionary context: Part one of a two-course sequence exploring the core concepts of evolution; structure and function; information flow, storage and exchange; pathways and transformations of energy and matter; and systems biology. There is an emphasis on the process of science, interdisciplinary approach and the relevance of biology to society.
Biology 102 focuses on diversity of life, anatomy and physiology of organisms, and ecosystem organization and processes in an evolutionary context. Part two of a two-course sequence exploring the core concepts of evolution; structure and function; information flow, storage and exchange; pathways and transformations of energy and matter; and systems biology. Emphasis on process of science, interdisciplinary approach, and relevance of biology to society.
