On Tuesday, February 11th, Woodbridge Student Government Association (SGA) Student, Hailey Lanford participated on a food insecurity panel as part of the Association of Community Colleges Trustees (ACCT) session on Capitol Hill.
U.S. Reps Jimmy Gomez, Norma Torres and Adam Schiff provided introductory remarks. The panelists discussed the prevalence of food insecurity on community college campuses, its effects on student outcomes and potential legislative solutions. Policy and systemic change requires many stakeholder voices, however, the student voice is the most important for us to hear. Hailey did a terrific job sharing her own personal experience and those of her peers.
