Dr. Sabrina Brandon Ricks Receives the 2019 OWL VFD Roger T. Furr Chief’s Award
Dr. Sabrina Ricks is a volunteer instructor at the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton (OWL) Volunteer Fire Department. She is also a certified emergency medical technician and ambulance driver. She was awarded the Roger T. Furr Chief’s Award by Department Chief Jim McAllister on Saturday, February 8, 2020 for the work she completed in 2019 revamping and instructing the harassment and bullying prevention program and working with new members to excel within the department. Dr. Ricks is the department representative for the national task force for workplace violence and bullying. She is also scheduled to speak about this topic and organizational leadership at the upcoming National Fire Executive Symposium to be held in Maryland this April.
