NOVA Student Life Invites Virtual Caricaturist to Meet NOVA “Characters”

April 14, 2020 / Our Nighthawks

On Thursday, April 9th, one Zoom room was bombarded by students waving their virtual hands for an opportunity to have their likeness drawn by a professional. Student Life joined forces with Adam Pate to offer Speed Caricatures for students and their families.
For two hours, Adam invited students into a virtual art space, chatting with them and creating their cartoon doppelganger right before their eyes. The event was setup so, even if students did not want to be on camera or have a caricature done, they could sit back and watch the process while others were being drawn. In all, about 35 students and their kids or pets had caricatures done.

The Office of Student Life has fun and educational virtual programming lined up for NOVA students each week through the rest of the semester. Events include live deejay sessions, at-home art projects, a virtual mind reader and so much more!

Encourage your students to sign up for the Virtual Student Union within Canvas to register for upcoming programs! Stay involved! Enroll at https://learn.vccs.edu/enroll/D9A7WD!
