A CETL-led Virtual Meet-Up. Monday, May 4, from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. This will be an opportunity to reflect upon teaching during the online pivot, to share final exam assessment plans & concerns and to discuss virtual course design considerations for Summer 2020.

A SCHEV-Sponsored Webinar: “Equity, Compassion, and Connection: Practical Pedagogy During COVID-19” Thursday, May 7 from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. This webinar is for two- and four-year faculty members across Virginia. Registration is required; limited spaces remain. Invitations to this were first offered via email from OPD last Friday.

This webinar will focus on establishing basic principles surrounding equity-driven teaching practices in the context of the current Covid-19 crisis. It is intended to provide faculty who will be teaching online this summer or fall with practical strategies to support equity in the areas of course design, course delivery and assessment, with a particular focus on the challenges of transitioning from face-to-face instruction to online instruction in the current public health environment. The content will be appropriate for faculty at both two-year and four-year institutions.
The presenters of this webinar are members of a SCHEV-sponsored Faculty Learning Community, who have spent the 2019-20 academic year studying equity-driven teaching strategies:
