Dr. Tyson Beale Assumes Dean of Students Council Chair, 2020-21

NOVA congratulates Dr. Tyson Beale who will become the next Chair of the Dean of Students Council effective July 1, 2020. Dean Beale is a passionate administrator with 20 years of experience in K-12 systems and higher education. He serves as Dean of Students for NOVA Alexandria where he oversees Student Life, Student Conduct, Enrollment Services, First-Year Advising and Counseling. Previously, he was Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs within the UNC System in Fayetteville, N.C., where he revamped student engagement initiatives, fraternity/sorority life and conduct practices as state coordinator for ASCA.

Recently, he authored a publication with scholars from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Seton Hill University on minority male persistence. This fiscal year, Beale presented at VCCS, SACSA and NASPA conferences on student persistence.
