Helping Nighthawk Students Soar with Navigate
Several Academic Deans have noticed the benefits that Navigate provides in connecting with students, facilitating communications and aiding in student success! Many thanks to Deans Evette Hyder-Davis (MA), David Epstein (WO), Alison Thimblin (WO) and Kat Hitchcock (LO) who hosted trainings for their faculty to learn more about the Navigate tool.
The central advising team is happy to schedule a ‘live’ training for your group. Please feel free to contact advisorhelp@nvcc.edu or our Coordinator of Advising Training, Maureen Lawson, at mlawson@nvcc.edu to discuss needs and schedule a training.
Navigate consists two parts:
Navigate Staff: This is the advisor-facing side. Navigate Staff allows you to reach out to your students, to take notes on advising appointments, review academic plans and much more.
Navigate Student: This is the student-facing side of the platform. Navigate Student allows students to create academic plans, get reminders about to-do’s and schedule appointments with their advisor, amongst other things. Students currently have access to the tool!
