Fine Arts Faculty Shows Artwork in Virtual Exhibition with Museum in Texas
Galleries and museums are turning to virtual platforms to keep art exhibitions going during the pandemic. The beauty of the virtual exhibition is that you can go to shows without leaving your couch. This highlights the resilience of the art community. This show is called Create in Place and is about making artwork in the pandemic. Click Here to visit works by Alexandria Art Professor Stacy Slaten at the Buddy Holly Center museum in Lubbock, Texas.
You must “walk” through the gallery and open the “door” to the second room to see Slaten’s statement and Nesting 19, a series that highlights parrots. She will also be in another virtual exhibition for a solo show in September at the Fischer Gallery at Alexandria’s Schlesinger Center. An in-person exhibition will follow when circumstances improve for the community in 2021.
