Review Work Plan and Telework Agreements

July 9, 2020 / HR News/Training

As NOVA plans for the start of a new academic year, now is a good time for employees and supervisors to review work plans, assess progress on employee work plans and prioritize any unresolved or new work that may have resulted from the temporary move to a remote work environment.

As stated in NOVA’s Return to Campus Plan – Fall 2020, the majority of courses and student services will continue to be delivered remotely. NOVA will also continue to offer telework options for employees who are able to perform the essential functions of their jobs remotely. Employees and supervisors are encouraged to review the COVID-19 Temporary Telework Agreement that was submitted when the College moved to a remote work and learning environment. As a reminder, some of the terms of this agreement include the following:

  • Employees will perform all of their duties as set forth in their job description/EWP, as well as those additional and/or different duties that their manager may assign based on business needs.
  • Non-exempt employees are not to work overtime without prior approval from their supervisor, and they are to maintain the same work schedule as the one established for their regular NOVA work location.
  • Employees will be solely responsible for the configuration of and all of the expenses associated with their telework workspace and all services.

Employees who continue to telework must complete and submit the Telework Time and Effort Log to their supervisor each week. An electronic Telework Time & Effort Log is now available in the Forms Library.
