Daily Flyer Now Daily Again!

Well, folks, we made it. This was a strange summer, following an even more strange spring! Now, we’ve finally made it to fall and the Daily Flyer, which was twice weekly during the summer, is now daily again!

The timing is good since events and activities, virtual though they may be, will be ramping up for fall. We want to use this newsletter to announce all the great activities and event announcements for faculty and staff, as well as announcements relevant to students so faculty and staff can share with them.

This is also a place to celebrate YOU, the ones who make this place go! We would like to hear about all the stuff you’ve been doing–speaking engagements, press interviews, op-eds you’ve written, professional awards you’ve won and relevant topics of interest to your faculty and staff colleagues.

If you have a story idea, please submit it. Just scroll to the bottom of any issue of the Daily Flyer and click the “Submit A Story” button. This will open up a browser window allowing you to enter your name and email address (not to be published, but just so we can contact you if we have questions) and then plug in your story. When you hit submit, the story goes right into our WordPress story line-up for consideration. Time-sensitive stories will run as soon as possible.

Also, do you know of a great story idea for a faculty, staff or student feature story? If so, please send your idea to dailyflyer@nvcc.edu. Include the person’s name and contact information, as well as a paragraph describing the general idea of the story. The editor of the Daily Flyer will contact you or them for necessary details. We really like developing person profiles to feature in the Flyer, on our social media platforms, on our website and sometimes even in a press release.

We’re excited about starting another school year. While many of us cannot see each other in person, let’s use the Daily Flyer as a means to stay apprised of all the great things happening at NOVA!
