Retired Detective Shares Policing Methods and Stats that Drive Them

Prof. Robert Anderson who teaches Administration of Justice at the Manassas Campus invited retired Detective Daniel Seals to discuss how statistics are used to inform Policing Methods. Business statistics students from Prof. Aldous McCrory’s Manassas ADJ students also attended, and all four classes learned how statistics and community policing are used to keep communities safe. Students learned the history of the establishment of community policing and how data is used to predict possible criminal activity.

Seals is a former Atlanta, Ga. Metro Police Department detective and also has experience in SWAT and crime scene technology. He has teaching experience in intelligence and predictive coursework at NASA Langley, the Pentagon and Quantico. He has trained over 3,000 officers in nearly all 50 states and eight countries.
