Loudoun Provost Julie Leidig Graduates from Aspen Fellowship

October 19, 2020 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

Dr. Julie Leidig, provost of NOVA’s Loudoun Campus, graduated on Oct. 10 from the fourth cohort of what is now called the Aspen Rising Presidential Fellowship. Leidig graduated with 38 other fellows who were selected from across the country. Normally a one-year fellowship, the experience was extended due to the group’s inability to travel to the final workshop originally scheduled for April 2020. Dr. Leidig’s capstone project for the fellowship centered on the importance of creating paid internships, job placement services and other career supports in order to provide an equitable path to economic and social mobility for first-generation and minority community college students. NOVA also has a representative in the fifth Aspen Rising Presidential Fellowship cohort: Dr. Nicole Reaves, Provost of the Medical Education Campus.
