HR Update on Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL)

The 80 hours of Virginia’s Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) will be reset on January 10, 2021 (at the start of the new leave year), and it will be available for use in accordance with the same eligibility criteria listed on DHRM’s COVID-19: Leave Types Chart. However, the policy exception for an additional 80 hours will not be renewed at this time. The use of PHEL is also contingent on the continuation of the Declaration of Public Health Emergency in Virginia.
