Sharing NOVA’s Phased Return Plan

Dear NOVA Community,  My commitment to open and transparent communications has been consistent throughout the pandemic. In that spirit, today I share our Return to NOVA Timeline for Full-Time Employees. It sets forth a gradual, phased return to our campuses and facilities that continues our practice of prioritizing the health and safety of our college community and provides full-time employees with three to five months to prepare for their onsite return. The timeline runs from June 21 to August 16.

As I have shared before, this timeline will guide the work of the expanded Return to NOVA Advisory Group (RNAG), which will dedicate its efforts to preparing our campuses and facilities within the guidance and requirements established by the CDC, VDH, OSHA, and DHRM. The RNAG’s work will also help us determine the timeline and framework for the return of our P14 employees and adjunct faculty to our campuses and facilities.

I know that you will have questions about the return timeline. Please send any questions to PresidentsOffice@nvcc.edu or use the anonymous survey link. Your questions will be used to create and update an FAQ document in the days and weeks ahead. I will also address many of these questions in my April Zoom office hours.

My appreciation goes out to NOVA’s Administrative Council, Office of Emergency Management and Safety and NOVA Police for the care and concern they have placed on the health and well-being of our community that has guided the Return to NOVA timeline.
