Today’s Topic Is Appreciation

January 18, 2022 / Tuesday Topics

Spring 2022 marks the beginning of my third year at NOVA, and each day since my first, I have found more and more reasons to be humbled, honored and proud to lead our extraordinary college.

You are the light that lifts our students and our community. COVID has brought renewed focus to both the importance of your work and its difficulty. The weight of the pandemic is a heavy one for all of us to be carrying still, and it takes a toll. Yet, you continue to support our students as they push through mountains and miles of challenge to fulfill their potential and achieve their college dreams. Your commitment to caring about their futures strengthens their resilience and momentum. No words can truly sum up how much you mean to our students, so I will simply say, thank you. Thank you.

As the year starts, I hope you are able to find time for two brief requests:

  • One: If you have a question for my January 27 Office Hours, please use this link to submit it by 5 pm on January 24.
  • Two: As we begin 2022, I’d love to hear about something that makes NOVA special for you: a colleague, a class, a corner of campus, a connection. Please send your email to PresidentsOffice@nvcc.edu.

Welcome to spring semester!
