Annandale English Professor Published in New MLA Essay Collection

Annandale Campus English Professor, and member of NOVA’s AANAPISI Grant Team, Yuemin He has contributed an essay to Teaching Asian North American Texts (June 2022), which is published by Modern Language Association in the Options for Teaching series.

Based on many years of classroom teaching and vigorous academic research, Dr. He writes about her teaching of Asian North American literature at NOVA, specifically two semesters in which she bundled an anthology (Bold Words) with Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize­–winning novel The Sympathizer (2015). Her experiment shows that bundling is practical, productive and inspiring on multiple levels for community college students. Her essay is the only representation from a community college. Congratulations!
