Providing resources to help you achieve financial independence and wellness remains a priority. Virginia Credit Union: Surviving in Today’s Economy. In times of economic uncertainty, let’s focus on what you can control. This upcoming webinar shares tips on increasing your value in the workplace, cutting expenses, boosting savings and reducing debt. Virginia529: New Year. New Goals. Make saving for education one of those goals! Saving for future education expenses for a child, a grandchild – or even yourself – can seem overwhelming. In partnership with DHRM, Virginia529 is hosting a webinar to learn how a Virginia529 account can help you save for tuition and other costs, take advantage of tax-free earnings, and meet your savings goals. Virginia Department of Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Division. Searching for your missing money is now easier than ever! Our new, improved website is more intuitive and offers a secure document upload feature, making claiming your funds quicker than ever before. Unclaimed property can include dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, stocks and dividends, insurance proceeds, refunds and more. One in four Virginians has missing money. Employee Assistance Program. All health plans offered to state employees and their dependents have employee assistance programs (EAP). Included are up to four sessions at no charge for such services as mental health, alcohol or drug abuse assessment, child or elder care, financial, grief counseling and legal services such as estate planning.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. State employees may be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Follow the link below to see whether you might qualify. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer. Due to the success of the Employee Financial Wellness Program, the Virginia State Employee Loan Program or VSELP will remain active throughout calendar year 2023, but will be dissolved thereafter. Stay tuned for more information throughout the year.
