Meatless Monday Tip: Explore the Meatless Monday Bean Resource Center

March 13, 2023 / Get Well

The Meatless Monday Campaign and the American Heart Association both promote beans as an incredible food. They are nutritious, sustainable, and inexpensive, making them one of the most cost-effective sources of protein available. But what makes the bean a truly remarkable ingredient is its versatility: in taste, preparation, and variety. With all these properties, it’s no surprise that beans continue to serve as the cornerstone of many great global cuisines.

So why not make them the cornerstone of your pantry? The Meatless Monday Beans Resource Center is designed to provide all the facts, tips, and recipes you need to bring the best out of your beans. Also, check out this set of recommendations and tasty recipes from The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Looking Ahead!
Consider using Spring Break week as an opportunity to prepare and taste test some of the many healthy recipes shared in the Daily Flyer during Heart Health Month and on Meatless Mondays. Don’t’ forget to explore recipes from our wellness partners WW| CommonHealth. Prepare to share your discoveries, as well as those treasures from your family recipe collections, on our Healthy Recipe Padlet. The link will be shared soon.

Remember to harness the power of checking in to enhance the success of your wellness plan.

Use the Monday Campaigns: Weekly Check-Ins
Mindful awareness, accountability, goal setting and tracking progress are evidence-based techniques that enhance the success of a wellness plan. Each week, the Monday Campaigns participants are invited to use the weekly check- Ins (Weekly Check In, March 8) to help you:

  • Remain motivated;
  • Reflect on your progress;
  • Consider how you will work with your Push Pal to get the most effective results from your wellness experiences; and
  • Recommit to your weekly goals.

Turn intentions into actions.
