Starting Monday: New Exhibition at LO’s Waddell Art Gallery

The Waddell Art Gallery on NOVA’s Loudoun Campus is excited to announce a collaborative exhibition put forth by the Public History and Historic Preservation certificate program and the Graphic Design discipline titled History of NOVA at Loudoun: 50-Year Anniversary. The show will open on Monday, January 22, and be on display until Friday, February 16. Please stop by the opening reception on Monday, Jan. 22, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. to meet the faculty involved in the making of this show. See the below flyer for more details.

Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of NOVA’s Loudoun Campus and learn how it has evolved over the years. This exciting new exhibition, a joint effort by the Public History and Historic Preservation certificate program and the Graphic Design discipline, was initiated as a collaborative project for HIST-183 and ART-217 in Fall 2023. Students in both classes performed the background research and designed the exhibition, which explores the history of the campus from the 1970s through today. The show also highlights President Jimmy Carter’s visit in 1980, the importance of student life and student engagement through the decades, the transformation of the campus environment, the impact of technological change on student learning, and the challenges brought forth by the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us as we explore all of these themes and more!

Exhibition Opening: Monday, Jan. 22, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Location: Waddell Art Gallery, Loudoun Campus (21200 Campus Drive | Sterling, Virginia 20164)
