Info Sessions on Google’s Skilled Trades and Readiness (S.T.A.R.) Program

For students considering a career in the construction industry, the next Google S.T.A.R. cohort starts Monday, March 18, at NOVA’s Manassas Campus!

S.T.A.R. program participants will discover careers in skilled trades, earn certifications recognized across the construction industry and receive hands-on training, all while being paid for five weeks. And the best part? Those who successfully complete the program will have an opportunity to work on a live construction site afterward.

Participants will: 

  • Master construction safety techniques
  • Learn how to read and understand blueprints
  • Become OSHA 10 certified for workplace safety
  • Train in first aid, CPR and AED
  • Develop professional skills for the job site
  • Gain knowledge in financial literacy for smart money management

Classes will start on March 18 at the Manassas Campus (10500 Battleview Parkway | Manassas, VA 20109). Join an in-person information session (Manassas Campus, MTS Building) to learn more:

  • Thursday, February 15, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 20, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, February 22, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
