April Events and Open Hours at the Annandale Center for Contemplative Practice

Come unwind and find your inner peace this spring at our serene center located on the Annandale Campus (CM-332). Whether you’re new to mindfulness or a seasoned practitioner, we invite you to join us for a variety of relaxing activities and events aimed at reducing stress and fostering community connections. Free snacks, coffee, tea and good energy will be provided!

Walk-in hours are 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The center is closed on Friday.

Weekly Events:

For All:

  1. The Weekly Sit: Tuesdays from 12:45 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Join us for a rejuvenating meditation session, either in person at the center or via Zoom. Open to all members of our community.
  2. Knitting with Sam: Tuesdays from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Relax and unwind with Sam Haynes, our knitting enthusiast. All skill levels are welcome; no experience or materials are required.
  3. Write Now!: Wednesdays from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. If you need to boost your productivity, join Dr. Jeanette Nicewinter for a writing-focused group session. Work on any writing project in a supportive environment.

For Students:

  • Katy’s Corner: Mondays from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Join senior work-study student Katy Morejon-Portillo for engaging workshops every week. Check out Katy’s blog page for upcoming themes.
