Nominate Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Committee Members by May 15

May 13, 2024 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

The Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Committee, a subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee, reviews and recommends new CPL opportunities for approval, hears requests for new or revised CPL policies and procedures, and monitors the implementation of the policies and procedures to assure consistent application throughout the college. The committee typically meets once per semester excluding summer. There may be additional meetings as needs arise, but these are rare.

A few members are phasing out as their term expires in May, so we are looking to fill the following positions through an open nomination call.

  • Two (2) General Education instructional faculty members
  • One (1) academic advisor
  • One (1) academic dean

You can nominate yourself or someone else who can represent your area to voice opinions on decisions related to CPL. Please submit your nomination to Thomas Phuoc Dang, CPL Coordinator and Committee Chair, via email at pdang@nvcc.edu no later than May 15. The Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer appoints the committee in the summer, and the appointees will serve in the next two-year term starting in Fall 2024.
