NOVA PD Participates in National Night Out with Fairfax County Police
Each year, National Night Out (NNO) is held on the first Tuesday in August. NNO is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer. National Night Out also enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community by bringing police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
This Year the NOVA Police Department joined the Fairfax County Police West Springfield District’s National Night Out. NOVA officers, along with Fairfax County Police, Sheriffs and George Mason University Police officers, visited the neighborhoods surrounding NOVA’s campuses. Our officers interacted with the community, educated residents about crime prevention and safety in the area and at the college, and promoted partnerships with local public safety agencies.
