Happy New Academic Year, NOVA Community!
NOVA’s Office of Employee Wellness and Wellbeing (OEWW) is thrilled to celebrate the launch of another exciting semester and work in tandem with so many dedicated and hard-working professionals! As we embark on this new chapter, let’s remember that wellness and well-being are more than just nice-to-haves; they are core components for both personal and professional success. By prioritizing self-care, we enhance our own lives and contribute to a thriving NOVA community.
Wellness is a cornerstone of our success. Research consistently shows that employees who prioritize their well-being are more engaged, productive, and satisfied with their work. By investing in your health and happiness, you’re not just taking care of yourself—you’re also contributing to the overall success of NOVA. By weaving well-being into the fabric of your life, both inside and outside of work, you create an environment where you can thrive and our students can flourish.
The Ask. So with the energy of a fresh fall start, I encourage you to:
- Take some time for yourself.
- Refresh your wellness plan and mobilize your resources.
- Sign up for a professional learning experience.
- Invest in your health and well-being.
- Journal and reflect.
- Meet new members of our community and reconnect with colleagues.
- Get some well-needed rest.
- When needed, converse with a trusted professional or confidant.
- Refresh your workspace.
- Enjoy a daily walk outside.
These moments can have a profound personal impact. While we all work hard to deliver a rich array of courses, programs, and services, it’s important to remember that we can only give our best when we take care of ourselves. As we embark on this academic season, let us each find ways to meet our own needs and inspire those around us to do the same.
Let us know how we can serve you better. Your Office of Employee Wellness and Wellbeing (OEWW) is gathering insights to better curate resources and plan tailored events, wellness opportunities, and well-being offerings. Your input is invaluable, and we’d love to hear from you. Please take a moment to complete the Fall 2024 Wellness and You Employee Survey using the link provided. Your feedback will help us serve you better!
