Recognize and Celebrate Your Colleagues With NOVAfy

NOVA’s fall semester is off to a strong start, thanks to the dedication and hard work of so many professionals. During these first weeks, we saw numerous colleagues stepping up to help each other and our students. Now it’s time to recognize those efforts and show our appreciation!

Impact of Recognition
Research shows that employee acknowledgment and recognition have a powerful impact on workplace culture and performance:

  • It’s a key driver of engagement and inspiration, fostering a culture of gratitude across all levels of the organization.
  • Recognition is most impactful when it flows in all directions—across departments and locations, and even up and down the organizational chart.
  • A pattern of consistent recognition encourages employees to give their best, creating a positive and ongoing cycle of appreciation and best efforts.
  • Peer-to-peer recognition has a unique power to transform workplaces. When employees share recognition, they start to see the good work all around them.

What is NOVAfy?
NOVAfy is an e-card recognition program that empowers employees to acknowledge, encourage and thank one another. This platform allows leaders, managers and colleagues to celebrate employee milestones, daily achievements and major wins. It’s a fun and easy way to celebrate the fantastic work we all do every day that positively impacts our college and our students.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added several new e-cards to the NOVAfy platform, with more designs coming soon!

How do you use NOVAfy?

  1. Access the platform: Log in to NOVAfy using your myNOVA (VCCS) credentials. See this guide for specific instructions on sending your messages.
  2. Choose a card: Select an e-card that best suits your message. If you have used NOVAfy before, prepare to be surprised. There are new selections, including some with delightful NOVA-specific branding—and more options to come.
  3. Personalize your message: Add a heartfelt message to express your appreciation or encouragement.
  4. Send your card: Share your e-card with the recipient.

With just a few clicks, you can send a personalized note of recognition, thanks or encouragement to your fellow employees. This simple yet impactful gesture can let them know you see and value their contributions, significantly strengthening our sense of community and belonging.
