About Me

Formerly a Senior Editor at National Geographic and currently a Geospatial Consultant, I have been teaching geography at NVCC-Alexandria for more than 10 years. I love traveling and have been fortunate to visit spectacular sites in places such as Britain, Egypt, and Iceland. Travel brings you in direct contact with cultural geographies that are as fascinating and heartwarming as they are different. My students at NVCC often reflect different cultures; and I learn from them, as they learn (hopefully) from me.

  1. Hello!

My name is Daniela Sinner and I am a senior at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. I am writing an article for an advance journalism class about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. I am looking for a few individuals to communicate with via email just to get their opinion on the matter. My deadline is Friday afternoon and wondered if you could help.

    Please let me know!

    1. Daniela–Yes, I can respond to some questions tomorrow (Friday). I am not an expert, but I do have an understanding of the cultural geography of Ukraine and Russia. My email is damiller@nvcc.edu

    1. Thanks, Paul. No, I did not win the Bee, but I was part of a dress rehearsal that readied Alex for the students.
