Woodbridge Campus Bomb Threat

As many of you have heard through the media, the College website, friends, students, co-workers, etc.  there was a bomb threat this morning at the Woodbridge campus.  The press release was as follows:

“On May 8th at 11:45AM, police responded to the Northern Virginia Community College – Woodbridge Campus located at 15200 Neabsco Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a reported bomb threat. A school employee received the threat over the phone which came in through a school telephone line. The bomb was reported to be in the lake area near the main school building. The entire campus has been evacuated of students, teachers and staff. A Virginia State Police bomb dog has been called to check the surrounding area and buildings.” -Prince William County Police

If you find yourself in a situation with a bomb threat, please remember the following:

  1. Call 911 or 703-764-5000.
  2. Do not use your cell phone or two-way radios.
  3. Do NOT activate the fire alarm system to evacuate.
  4. Shelter-in-place or evacuate the building as directed.
  5. Do not re-enter the building until cleared by authorized personnel.
  6. Untrained persons should not try to rescue people who are inside a collapsed building.  Wait for emergency personnel.
