The Annandale Coin Show will be held at the Ernst Community Cultural Center on the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College on Saturday, July 27th (10am – 6pm), and Sunday, July 28th (10am – 4pm).

The Indonesia Relief USA organization will hold a fundraising night of art and culture at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center on the campus of Northern Virginia Community College – Annandale Campus on Sunday, June 30th from 5PM until 9PM.
There will be an array of exhibitions, paintings, photographs and crafts. The featured act is Destination Indonesia! by Gigi Art of Dance, and guest performer, Indomination.

Save the date and join us for the National Capital Region’s 3rd Annual CERT Convention, hosted by Fairfax County CERT. CERTCon is a two day seminar/functional exercise that offers training, networking and sharing of best practices to CERT members in the National Capital Region.
Saturday, June 29th will feature a lecture series from practicing professionals in the fields of emergency management, public health preparedness, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and more! The speakers hail from a variety of organizations and agencies, including FEMA, NOAA, Virginia Task Force-1 (TF-1), Search & Rescue (NASAR) and more. This lecture series will take place at the Northern Virginia Community College, Ernst Community Cultural Center, Annandale Campus, in Fairfax, Virginia.
Sunday, June 30th will feature a hands-on drill at Lorton, a disaster training site. This exercise will give our CERTs an opportunity to sharpen and advance their skills and work together as a multijurisdictional team. From moulage to triage, you’ll experience it all.

Kate Wallestad and Catherine Stark present their abstract artworks in a two man Thesis Exhibition at the Verizon Galleries in the Ernst Cultural Center.
These bodies of work are the culmination of their Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Interdisciplinary Art from Virginia Commonwealth University.
The show is open May 7th -17th and there will be an Opening Reception May 10th 7-9 pm.
The Springfield Art Guild (SAG) has over 40 local artists currently on exhibition at the Ernst Community Cultural Center – Verizon Gallery as part of the Community Connections – People, Places and Things Exhibition Series. The exhibition will run from February 25th through March 24th, 2013, with a reception on Saturday, March 2nd from 7PM until 9PM. The event is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday -Friday from 9AM until 5PM, and on weekends when events are scheduled in the Ernst Center. As part of SAG’s community outreach and support, they are presenting Kelly Hendrickson, a NOVA art student, with a scholarship and entry into the exhibition with two new works.

NOVA Toastmasters host a fundrasing event at the Ernst Center on Wednesday, February 6th 2013 at 12:30PM.
Darlene Kaplan leads this tea tasting, which is a ceremonial tea drinking style meant to focus one’s attention and relax the mind and spirit in a convivial, shared experience. You will pay close attention to the evolving taste and aroma of the tea, slowing to observe the dance of its leaves against beautiful yizing cups. There is nothing like Gong Fu to create a warm, intimate atmosphere among friends.
You will be served up to six different Preimium to Estate Teas. The selections included are Oolong, Pu-erh, Green, White, Organic, and Blooming Tea – just to mention a few. The Premium Tea or Estate Teas are from Sir Lanka, Japan, China, Tibet, India, Vietnam, and Taiwan.
