The Meyer Foundation in Washington, D.C. has awarded $40,000 in continued support of NOVA’s Adult Career Pathways program. It will be used to expand and enhance a program model with demonstrated success in supporting unemployed and low-income adults in achieving their post-secondary goals.

Due to technical difficulties with its Paul Lee Professional Development Grant form, VCCS has extended the application deadline to October 25. If you have already submitted your application by the original deadline (October 15), you are asked to re-submit to ensure your proposal is received. The CIF is now requesting proposals to support innovative projects aimed at increasing student access to and success in postsecondary education and training. Please contact grants development staff (see “contact information” on our web site) to get the process started and to review your application. CIF is particularly interested in Student Services (including providing support to military veterans, college completion, and integration of academic and student services), Technology (including the use of mobile devices, social media, and other digital tools), and Workforce Development. Award amounts are $5,000 to $75,000 per project. The grant period is December 2, 2013 – June 30, 2014. In 2012, 32 proposals were submitted involving projects at 19 Virginia colleges, and 24 were awarded – including four to NOVA faculty and staff.
