Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) DC Branch

PGMS is a professional association promoting development through education programs, networking, community service, and fellowship. The majority of PGMS members are grounds managers working at various organizations such as colleges, universities, municipalities, parks and recreation facilities, theme parks, and landscape management companies. PGMS is currently reaching out to all faculty, staff, and students that are involved in the Horticulture Technology program to invite them to virtual meetings.

PGMS virtual meetings this fall include a virtual tour of Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne, Pennsylvania and Plymouth Plantation, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Both of the tours include a question and answer session after followed by the monthly PGMS business meeting. In November PGMS will have a presentation from one of their sponsors, Country Casual followed by their monthly business meeting. All PGMS meetings will be done using GoToMeeting which PGMS will provide the link and sign in information within a week of the meetings.

Meetings are currently scheduled for September 10th, October 1st, November 12th, and December 3rd.

PGMS would like to get the students interested in attending their meetings as it is a great networking opportunity to talk to others that are already in industry. Each meeting brings an educational opportunity to learn in a relaxed atmosphere and ask questions. PGMS would hope to gain interest and hope their reaching out will provide another avenue to make and create lasting friendships.
