Lynchburg Landscapes is looking for a full-time paid summer intern. Lynchburg Landscapes is a full- service provider of landscape design and construction services in the Lynchburg and Smith Mountain Lake regions.  We are driven by our commitment to create beautiful, enjoyable, and highly functional outdoor spaces. Our scope of work includes residential, commercial, park and urban design.  Our sister company, Huckleberry Knob Nursery is a newly opened boutique retail nursery and garden center dedicated to providing high quality plants and exceptional customer service.  Lynchburg Landscapes and Huckleberry Knob Nursery are founded on the understanding that culture drives results and we are committed to developing strong relationships, emphasizing collaboration and nurturing forward-thinking ideas.

What You Will Do:

Our interns will need to love the outdoors and not be afraid to get dirty. You will be learning the business from the ground up.   Your time will be an approximate  80/20 split between landscape installation and retail nursery/landscape design.  The hands-on experience will have you working directly with certified Landscape Architects, nursery staff and construction project managers.

Installation (80%)
-Soil Prep
-Plant installation and pruning
-Sod
-Hardscape installation assistance – paths, patios, walls, firepits, and lighting
-Site demo/ cleanup

Nursery/Design (20%)
-Plant Care
-Retail Sales
-Client meetings
-Site inventory and analysis
-Design Development/ Planting Plans
-Give advice/recommendations to clients.
