· 3-5 years experience in customer service, program management, marketing
· Experience writing web-based content and outreach emails
· Adeptness at multiple web-based platforms – Point of Sale, Web Editors, Volunteer Management, Email marketing. (experience with WordPress and MailChimp a plus)
· Exposure to events management
· Experience facilitating and coordinating workshops and programs, and engagement with youth and children a plus.
· Successful completion of a pre-employment background and reference check
· Interest in conservation, environmental practices, organic food production or other mission related intersections

Willowsford Conservancy is a non-profit steward of 2,300 acres of naturalized open space and 40 miles of trails located in Aldie and Ashburn, VA. Conservancy land comprises woodlands, meadows, wetlands & ponds, and a working farm. We serve the Willowsford community through programs and events, offering natural trails for a variety of uses, maintaining campgrounds, and creating an environment where people can enjoy nature and outdoor recreation.
Willowsford Conservancy is recruiting a Program & Engagement Coordinator to support and facilitate the Conservancy, programs and volunteer activities, through promotion and community engagement. This role serves as a liaison between the Conservancy and Willowsford residents, building community relationships and promoting activities via social media and other communication channels. The Program & Engagement Coordinator will have an active role in documenting, photographing, and promoting activities, and be actively involved in building the Conservancy’s social media presence.
This position will also be responsible for overseeing Conservancy signature events (Earth Day & Annual Bonfire) as well as coordinating participation with the HOA partner sponsored events throughout the year. Creativity, communication, and project management skills are essential for this position.
This position works closely with the Executive Director to build brand and to promote the Conservancy, and its vision of being a world-class agrihood.
Responsibilities
Community & Volunteer Engagement
· Oversee, develop, promote, and staff annual program activities
· Coordinate and staff Willowsford Camp, an annual 2-week summer offering to Willowsford youth
· Promote the use of the amenities such as campgrounds and pavilions
· Respond to resident inquiries regarding Conservancy lands, trails, programs, and volunteer activities, and provide intentional and quality resident/customer service.
· Recruit, train and steward volunteers
· Promote and provide logistical support for programs and events, working with Conservancy staff who provide the subject matter expertise
· Manage multiple web-based platforms for volunteer and events management, inclusive of web-site integrations.
Promotion & Marketing
· Create, schedule and post social media content that aligns with brand and image
· Collaborate with team to develop branding messages
· Maintain and develop positive relationships with residents and community partners
· Develop and assist with design and writing of marketing material, including magazine, website, newsletters, and blog content
· Serve as the organizational historian and build the photo library

Salary and Benefits
