Residential Landscape Gardener – Part-Time (Spring-Summer)

We are seeking a passionate gardener to help us beautify, maintain and enhance a three-acre homestead in Chantilly, VA using permaculture, organic, and all-natural gardening methods (no harmful pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals).

We have been developing our homestead for the last eighteen years and have multiple perennial gardens, a sizable vegetable garden, an orchard, and a woodland area. We use permaculture principles in food growing as much as possible and try to make our perennial beds sustainable and eco-friendly havens for pollinators and other critters throughout the property.

We love spending time outdoors tending to our gardens, but as the gardens continue to grow and expand it would be wonderful to have regular help on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Ideally, we are looking for someone that truly loves gardening and is not afraid of hard work and getting their hands dirty. The ideal candidate is dependable and has a great attitude and is knowledgeable or willing to research and learn about these basic
landscape principles and related practices:

● organic food production (experience or interest in mycology)
● organic pest and disease solutions
● sustainable gardening and native plant knowledge (botany – horticulture)
● permaculture principles (designing and working with nature)
● basic landscape design concepts
● basic maintenance concepts (weeding, mulching, pruning)
● basic landscape construction (hardscaping, berry support systems, composting, water harvesting, irrigation)

Hourly Pay $18-20 Per Hour
