The amazing Native Plant Heroes at Earth Sangha have just announced two internship opportunities for 2024!
The first is the 2024 Full Season Native Plant Conservation Internship. There is one available position for this opportunity, and responsibilities include working in Wild Plant Nursery, removing invasives in restoration sites, assistant supervising of volunteers, and the potential for field work throughout the region! This position is January through December with a schedule of about 20 hours a week at $16 an hour.
The second is the 2024 Summer Native Plant Conservation Internship. The fabulous Green Spring Garden that you know and love from Professor Dickson’s Plant ID courses, the same Green Spring Garden that is meticulously managed by a NOVA Horticulture Alumni, is looking to hire a part-time gardener! You’re in luck though! Not only are they hiring one part-time gardener, but they actually have 2 open part-time gardener positions! One is for 900 hours per year, which maths out to about 18 hours per week, and one for 1,560 hours per year, which maths out to about 30 hours a week. The pay and the positions are great especially if you’re still working your way through the program so do not hesitate to apply!

NOVA Corps, a paid student internship program through the Office of EMSS, is recruiting students to help prospective, new and current students start and finish strong at NOVA. The mission of NOVA Corps is to help NOVA students develop professional skills that will benefit them after college while also providing support to their peers.
General Description: Student interns will perform a variety of customer-service duties in support of educational programs.
Duties and tasks: Provide general information to students on a variety of programs, activities and procedures related to admissions, enrollment and college programs and activities. They work primarily in person (face to face), as well as through telephone, email and/or online chat. Information to be provided includes the application for admission, registration, general financial aid processes, assistance in navigating the student information system (SIS) and Canvas and assistance with campus tours, virtual lobby, new student orientation, etc. Full training is provided.
Essential functions: Provide courteous, friendly and knowledgeable service to students. Provide clear, consistent, up-to-date and accurate information. Attend team meetings, read emails and the College website and utilize current job aids.
Note: One-week on-site training located in Fairfax, Va. area is mandatory.

Earth Sangha is looking for a nursery associate! In this position, you would help with conservation and propagation in their Wild Plant Nursery, which is the region’s largest local ecotype plant propagation effort! The nursery associates day to day responsibilities include the care and propagation of native plants, the overall organization of the Wild Plant Nursery, and working with plant passionate volunteers!
They’re looking to hire someone for this position to start this summer. It is a permanent part-time position that includes health insurance, retirement, and accrued paid time off with a salary of $18/hour.

The LVHMC’s mission is to promote local, sustainable, and organic agriculture, increase economic opportunities for farmers and small food businesses, offer experiential learning about and access to healthy local foods, and build a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors.
The Market manager will work with vendors, consumers, community partners, and the board of directors to support the mission & vision of LVHMC.
The Outreach Coordinator will work along with our Market Coordinator to execute the day-to-day operations of the cooperative and support LVHMC’s mission and vision.
