NOVA’s Annandale Campus held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Student Services (CA) building on Friday, September 9 at 2:00 p.m. The third floor auditorium of the CA building was full of people celebrating the new addition.
President Robert Templin, Jr., Annandale Provost Barbara Saperstone, and NOVA Board Chair David Millerspoke at the event. Several state and local elected officials attended the event including Senator David Marsden, Delegate James Scott, Delegate Vivian Watts, Delegate David Bulova and Supervisor John Cook. Each official shared a few words with attendees and praised NOVA for its continued efforts to improve facilities and student access.
After the ceremony, the speakers participated in a ribbon cutting. Student ambassadors and student government representatives volunteered to welcome guests and provide tours of the building after the festivities.
A reception followed in the Barnes and Noble Starbucks Café on the second floor. Guests, faculty, staff and students enjoyed a bountiful spread of food and drinks as well as music from the Perfect Harmony String Ensemble.
The event was a huge success, largely due to all the staff members and students who helped plan all the different parts of the day. NOVA’s Annandale Campus is proud to have this wonderful addition.
