Technology Applications Center Update

Upgrade to NOVAConnect (SIS) – PeopleSoft 9.0

The go live date for the NOVAConnect (SIS) upgrade is March 26. Students, faculty and staff will see a slightly different look as they navigate the system, but it is not a dramatic change. The Technology Applications Center (TAC) has scheduled “What’s New in NOVAConnect/PeopleSoft (SIS) 9.0” training sessions for faculty and staff to begin March 12.  A complete schedule and registration is located at

http://www.nvcc.edu/faculty-and-staff/technology/tac/tactraining/register/#446.

Students will see some navigation changes; however, most functions remain basically the same. New features for Advisement and Planning will be available in the future, but there is nothing new for March. User’s guides and web documents will be provided to assist students.

Staff who perform Student Services within PeopleSoft will experience a bit more change than students. PeopleSoft version 9 has a different “look and feel,” and navigating within the application is somewhat different for some functions. However, most individual processes and tasks within the system remain largely the same. Staff who currently use PeopleSoft to perform Student Administration tasks will be invited to attend special sessions to test changes in the system, and there will be User Guides and Online Tutorials.

Faculty will still see a familiar interface, but some of the pages where they actually access rosters, enter grades, etc., look a bit different. Faculty will have a user’s guide available to assist with the changes.

Training for the scheduled HRMS upgrade is forthcoming. Please be on the lookout for additional communications in Intercom and email for training opportunities through the TAC.
