The Technology Applications Center (TAC) has some important reminders.
The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) will upgrade our current Blackboard to Blackboard 9.1. Upgrading to Blackboard Learn 9.1 provides instructors with new features focused on fostering student engagement, supporting teaching efficacy, and delivering open and extensible learning. The upgrade is scheduled to occur on May 12.
NOVA’s TAC will offer a variety of day, evening and virtual “What’s New in Blackboard 9.1” trainings to faculty and staff on each campus. “What’s New in Blackboard 9.1” registration is available at http://www.nvcc.edu/faculty-and-staff/technology/tac/tactraining/register/.
TAC is also excited to announce Blackboard Collaborate, web conferencing software, for use this summer 2012. Blackboard Collaborate is a combination of Wimba Classroom and Elluminate! Live building block, in Blackboard, that enhances the real-time collaboration between faculty and students. Blackboard Collaborate will replace our current eNova/eMeeting software. You may register for Blackboard Collaborate virtual trainings at http://www.nvcc.edu/faculty-and-staff/technology/tac/tactraining/register/. TAC hopes you will take advantage of these trainings to become more familiar with the software for use this summer. In addition to training, Blackboard Collaborate tutorials are located at http://www.nvcc.edu/faculty-and-staff/technology/collaborate/tutorials.html
