During February and March, the Woodbridge Campus worked with the Northern Virginia Cash Campaign through the Fairfax County government to aid local families with their tax returns. The program is designed to target low income families ($50,000 in a household up to four) and help them receive their full tax return. Woodbridge held the preparation days on Saturdays. Through this effort, a variety of people from the community as well as Woodbridge students were served. Associate Professor of Business Mark D’Antonio led the program, organized volunteers and facilitated the process onsite during the tax prep sessions. Assistant Professor of Accounting Nauri Ahmed and adjunct James Steele also volunteered their time and tax preparation skills. This year, the group completed 67 federal returns and 67 state returns for a total of 134 returns.
