Woodbridge Participates in Dale City Fourth of July Parade

Volunteers from the Woodbridge Campus took part in the 45th annual Dale City Fourth of July Parade. The group included Woodbridge Provost Sam Hill, Business Manager Cory Thompson, Campus Operations Director Maxine Toliver, IT Specialist Rob Kimble, Adjunct Faculty Betsy Stuart, Financial Aid Assistant Roma Shahid, Administrative Assistant Karen Haliburton, Bookstore Manager Cameisha Chin, Campus and Community Relations Specialist Heather Witmer, and students. Many from the group brought family members to make it a nice memorable family event. The parade is a local favorite with more than 150 participants including marching bands from Gar-Field and Hylton high schools, fire trucks from the local stations, and the Quantico Marine Corps Band and color guard.

The Woodbridge float included the NOVA van and decorated work truck. The Woodbridge group handed out promotional items along with bottles of water and fans to try to fight the heat index that was 105 degrees on the two-mile parade route.

The parade is sponsored by the office of Supervisor John Jenkins (Neabsco District) with his wife, Ernestine Jenkins, chairing the parade committee.
